Seeking Associate Attorney to work in busy Personal Injury Law firm in Locust Valley Office. This position is a full time in person position. One to two years prior personal injury or litigation experience needed. Prior experience working on auto accident, slip/trip and fall cases or premises liability cases a plus.Seeking Associate Attorney. Duties will include: a) weekly identifying of all cases which require a Compliance/Status Order to be submitted to the Court, researching what is needed for the Order, completing the order with defense and submitting it properly to the Court. b) complying with all discovery as a result of these orders, c) virtual Court appearances (CC, Settlement Conferences, Depositions, 50hs, etc) d) Working with paralegal tracking service of process of suits and answers to confirm all received timely and processing new answers received, d) reviewing all medical reports received to decide if Bills of Particulars needs to be supplemented and other steps to take with exchanging of medical reports, e) draft, complete and attend Infant Compromises, f) help Managing Attorney enter new cases into system and monitor for possible suit, g) drafting of Motions, Opposition Papers and legal research required as needed, i) help with Trial Preparation by drafting subpoenas and other exchanges needed and other work associated with the successful litigation of the cases, j) Occasional Trials, k) Case strategizingThe ideal candidate works well with others as this position will require extensive work with the Managing Attorney and paralegals at the firm. Must be well organized and able to independently calendar and follow up on assignments. Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, Teams, Calendars needed. Analytical skills needed and the ability to collaborate with Senior Attorney and Managing Attorney to devise case strategies. Good writing skills. Being admitted in NY required. Being admitted in NJ, PA or TN a plus.
