Finance Attorney

Robinson+Cole, an Am Law 200 Firm, seeks an attorney to join its Business Transactions practice group in its New York, NY; Stamford, CT, Hartford, CT, Boston, MA or Providence, RI office. 
Robinson+Cole represents lenders and borrowers in a variety of highly sophisticated secured and unsecured financing transactions, including transactions secured by, or based on, all manner of real estate and personal property. We work with banks and their special finance and merchant banking affiliates, as well as with insurance companies, venture and opportunity funds, financial subsidiaries of major industrial corporations and other financial intermediaries. We work with clients in a broad range of industries such as health care, waste management, retail, broadcast and cable television, affordable housing, cellular telephone and radio, real estate development, timeshare finance, energy, sovereign tribal nations, employee benefit plans, electric, gas and water utilities, municipal finance and financial services. We are familiar with the particular financing needs of these industries as well as with specialized collateral such as securities, real estate, vessels and aircraft.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of six years of experience inall aspects of secured and unsecured bank, mezzanine and other senior and subordinated lending, working with borrowers, banks, funds and other lenders.  The ideal candidate will have experience with subordination and intercreditor arrangements, negotiating financial covenants and intercreditor matters inherent in mezzanine financing, perfecting  collateral, advising private equity clients in connection with leveraged buyouts and refinancings, representing financial institutions in connection with secured loans to individuals, or their investment vehicles. Candidates should work well as part of a team and enjoy a fast-paced work environment.
Admission to the bar in which the attorney is resident is required.  Top academic and transactional credentials, excellent writing, research, negotiation, and communication skills also required.
