Law Immigration Clinic
The College of Law at Georgia State University currently seeks qualified applicants for the position of Clinical Supervising Attorney in its newly established Immigration Clinic.  The Immigration Clinic will open in January 2020 to help address the need for lawyers across the state.  The new Immigration Clinic will focus on removal defense cases. 
 The Clinical Supervising Attorney will assist the Clinic Director teaching and administering the Immigration Clinic seminar and assist with training students regarding lawyering skills, the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the immigration system. The Clinical Supervising Attorney will supervise and mentor law students on client cases (including representation before USCIS, EOIR, and the Federal Courts), project work, and educational programming associated with the Immigration Clinic.
 While the following duties are not all inclusive, the Clinical Supervising Attorney will be expected to:
 • Assist in teaching and administering the Immigration Clinic seminar and assist with training students regarding lawyering skills, the laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the immigration system. Supervise law students in the representation of clients and project work.
 • Work with clients in a variety of immigration-related matters before administrative agencies including the Executive Office for Immigration Review, US Citizenship and Immigration Service, Immigration and Customs Enforcement as well as state and federal courts.
 • Assist in developing, coordinating, providing, evaluating and documenting educational sessions for community members and stakeholders regarding their rights, developments in the law, the services provided by the Clinic, and the immigration system.
 • Assist in documenting details and outcomes of cases handled, project work, and educational programs.
 Applicants must have a J.D. or equivalent degree, be licensed to practice law in the United States, and have three years of experience representing clients in immigration matters. Applicants should also have an interest in teaching and working with students. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled.
