Unique Regulatory/Transactional Associate Position for Blended Financial Services/Banking/Fintech Practice

G&S Exclusive: Leading fintech practice continues to marry the application of new and novel with the provision of “banking” services for diverse, consumer credit/financial services clients.
Representative Matters: Include (i) assisting a health care company enter the flexible spending account market; (ii) representing technology companies selling compliance services to banks; (iii) representing private equity funds in due diligence on the purchase of companies that may provide lending services and identifying the required regulatory compliance that would be required by ownership, and (iv) more standard work such as preparing a response to a newly issued policy position by the Federal Reserve.
Need: The department has a junior to mid-level gap at JD class years 2017, 2016, and 2015. The need is newly created through continuous, steady growth and client demand. Work is allocated into transactional support, including fintech (50%), and regulatory counseling (50%).
Position’s Appeal: (i)there is a commitment to associate training and retooling; (ii) an associate can gravitate toward a heavier diet of regulatory work or transactional work as his/her interest and work flow dictate; (iii) the group has a track record of advancing associates to counsel and partner positions within the firm, and (iv) the department is cohesive and long tenured as a group.
