Mid-Atlantic law firm with reasonable hours and excellent partnership prospects seeks a corporate lawyer with 4-11 years of experience. Title will be dependent on level of seniority.
This person will represent small to middle market companies in a wide range of corporate matters, including entity formation, mergers & acquisitions, commercial agreements, securities etc. Will serve as de facto GC to companies and will receive significant client contact. Position is open due to a Counsel at the firm moving in-house. He is leaving on excellent terms.
Must have strong general corporate experience with a law firm, particularly m&a experience. This is a fantastic opportunity for a corporate lawyer to get substantial experience and to take responsibility for deals. Firm has an excellent history of promoting associates/counsel to partner.
Firm culture is positive and supportive. Hours are very reasonable (1800 hours annually).  Compensation is a little below market but the many positives outweigh the small reduction in comp. There are also bonus incentives. Can be resident in either DC or northern VA but must be a member of the bar where the office is located.
