Immigration Bond Attorney

We are a national law firm and we are staffing positions for a new pro bono immigration bond program. The program seeks to provide legal representation for immigrants in detention in the United States who are in removal proceedings and who seek release from custody while their case progresses through the immigration court system.
The EOIR changed its rules related to representation of immigrants in removal proceedings for bond determination purposes, by establishing the "Separate Representation for Custody and Bond Proceedings" rule. This allows an attorney to represent a client before the immigration courts for bond hearings without requiring commitment to the full case. This rule change enables this program, which seeks to insure that all immigrants receive due process, to fight for immigrants detained across the United States in seeking their release from custody. Using telephonic hearing requests, this program will seek to represent any immigrant in a United States detention facility in their quest for release from jail before the EOIR.
Position is primarily located in Los Angeles, though positions are also available in Houston, Texas and Arlington, VA.
