Job Description: The Director of Litigation Training will report to the Executive Assistant District Attorney for the Supreme Court Trial Division and will be primarily responsible for creating and implementing all legal training for a staff of over 300 assistant district attorneys, as well as prospective prosecutors and others in office internship programs.
Job Responsibilities:
The specific duties include but are not limited to:
Designing and coordinating orientation programs for new assistant district attorneys (ADAs)
Designing and coordinating trial training programs for ADAs at multiple levels of experience
Designing, coordinating and teaching continuing legal education programs for entire ADA staff
Designing and coordinating training for interns in conjunction with the recruitment office
Maintaining the office’s NY State CLE provider status including complying with all CLE rules and regulations and attendance at CLE provider conferences
Education and Experience:
JD Degree and member in good standing of the NY State Bar
US Citizenship and NY State residency required as of first day of employment
Minimum of ten years experience in criminal trial and appellate practice
Extensive knowledge of NY State Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law
Teaching experience on the college or law school level
Management experience
