If you are passionate about employment law and HR but tired of corporate or law firm politics and hidden agendas we have a dream job for you! As a non-profit association that’s been in business since 1937, we help thousands of businesses solve HR problems every year. You will never stop learning and never be bored at the California Employers Association (CEA).
We are looking to hire just the right individual to join our team. As our Senior Subject Matter Expert, you will provide HR support to businesses across the State. If you have your law license and want to use your skills to educate employers of all shapes and sizes, conduct workplace investigations, write newsletter articles, a blog, and prepare compliance training materials – this is the job for you!

Working remote from your own home office part of the time as well as having an office presence in our Sacramento headquarters will give you the flexibility and opportunity to have the best of both work worlds.
Supported by a dynamic team of your peers, and amazing administrative, marketing, and sales staff, you will assist our members on numerous employment matters including workplace safety, employee handbooks, wage and hour hearings, UI claims, DFEH claims, labor relations, and general employment issues. You will also provide live and virtual web based trainings on harassment prevention and other HR compliance topics to groups of all sizes.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, the ideal candidate for this position will have a J.D., licensed in California, with 5-10 years of California employment law experience. The applicant must be proficient with computer skills and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Starting salary for this position is up to $100,000/year DOE, + bar dues, medical/dental/vision benefits, a generous PTO/Sick Leave/Holiday plan and a 401k plan with a 3% match! Join our dream team and truly make a difference for employers all over California!
