Schlanger Law Group LLP is an established and growing consumer protection law firm dedicated to empowering consumers who confront businesses that don’t follow the law.   Our firm represents consumers in individual and class action litigation regarding inaccurate credit reporting, identity theft, unlawful collection and lending practices and other unfair and deceptive misconduct.  In short, we  help consumers fight back.
We are seeking a full-time Junior Litigation Associate to join our team. Initially, you will work remotely, and then out of our soon-to-be-opened Westwood, New Jersey office. This position offers the opportunity to broaden and develop your legal career in a practice that is rich in variety and challenges, and that imparts broad responsibilities and exposes you to a range of legal issues related to consumer protection.
Required Skills & Experience:

Must be currently admitted to practice law or awaiting admission in New Jersey
Minimum of 1 year of Federal litigation experience
Superior persuasive legal writing ability, as well as exceptional oral communication skills
Outstanding academic credentials
Must be able to work independently as well as in collaboration with others
Possess superior organizational & time-management skills to meet strict time deadlines
Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
Former federal clerks strongly encouraged to apply

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Drafting pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, stipulations of settlement, etc.
Communicating with clients regarding their respective matters
Communicating with opposing parties regarding all aspects of litigation, including case resolution. 
Legal research related to simple and complex issues in consumer protection law
Appropriate courtroom, arbitration, deposition and other litigation opportunities, increasing over time.
