Shipman & Goodwin LLP is seeking an associate to join our finance practice in our Stamford office, preferably including New York lending experience. Candidates must have three to four years of finance experience in a law firm setting, including significant experience with bank side lending including drafting loan documents and New York lien law experience. Experience extending to real estate based transactions, structured finance/capital markets and general corporate matters is considered a plus but not required. Strong loan document and real estate contract/lease drafting and negotiation skills are required, and candidates must be able to work independently as well as a member of a team on complex deals. The ideal candidate would be based in our Stamford office, but willing to work out of our New York and Hartford offices as needs require. We will consider candidates who prefer to work from the firm’s New York office on a limited regular schedule so long as the candidate would also maintain a regular primary schedule in the Stamford.
