Senior Counsel or Associate General Counsel

POSITION OVERVIEW:Serve as in-house counsel in a low-drama, friendly, and collegial office at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, providing legal advice to a broad range of Chamber executives and employees. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide legal advice to Chamber executives and employees. Areas of responsibility include legal compliance, litigation matters, lobbying rules, federal and state election laws, human resources legal issues, and data privacy law.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Juris Doctor degree with strong academic performance during law school; 5+ years’ legal experience; demonstrated managerial aptitude and excellent client relations; ability to oversee the work of law firm partners and associates; strong legal research and analytical skills; outstanding verbal and written communications skills; ability to work autonomously; ability to manage multiple matters for multiple clients and set and adjust priorities; mature judgment; and able to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Previous in-house legal experience a plus. Membership in good standing in, or eligibility to waive into, the District of Columbia Bar. Salary commensurate with experience.
