PA Right-to-Know-Law Attorney/Temp/FT (PH111820): Our Client, a law firm in Bucks County, works with PA school districts. It has an immediate need for an active Pennsylvania-licensed attorney, for an open-ended (likely 3-4 months) assignment. Minimum 5 years' experience.
In this assignment you would be -
Working with School Districts to respond to Right-to-Know requests and appeals to the Office of Open Records in a timely manner, including the following duties:1/ Analyze Right-to-Know requests and draft proposed search terms to aid the School District in accumulating potentially responsive records to requests; 2/ Draft proposed correspondence to Requesters on behalf of the School District, including extension notices and response letters; 3/ Review records in Relativity for responsiveness to the request and for necessary redactions as permitted under the RTKL, and; 4/ Draft briefs and affidavits for submission to the Office of Open Records.
Required Skills and Background Knowledge:
- Experience using Relativity for document review and redactions.
- Familiarity with the RTKL, particularly Section 708 exceptions to public records.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Commitment to meeting deadlines.
