What Does a Public Adjuster Administrative Assistant do?
At Stone Claims Group (SCG), we work in Pods (a group of 3 to 4), and as a group, we can share some of the job duties of a property field adjuster. A Pod consists of an EPA (Exec. Public Adjuster as defined by skill set and experience), a PA (Public Adjuster), and an Administrative Assistant. The focus is on working onsite to investigate insurance claims, make decisions about coverage and repairability, and negotiate a settlement for repairs. In this career, you assist the Adjusters in every way necessary to facilitate the file progression to a conclusion. SCG has developed a group of applications organized around custom software to collect, store, share, and document all vital claim information.  The work of the POD is fully transparent with SCG management and captured in a customized application - Monday.com.. Qualifications for Administrative Assistant ●      2+ years prior experience in a similar role is required 5+ years preferred.
●      Paralegal experience is strongly preferred.
●      Ability to efficiently and effectively support moderate to very complex commercial property claims.
●      Strong Multitasking skills, Strong multi-tasking skills
●      Works well in teams of 3 to 4
●      Superior communication skills are essential for success in this role.
●      Strong attention to detail is necessary as claims adjusters must carefully review documents and policies.
●      Strong computer skills, including Google Suite
●      Solid writing skills are an asset, as you will be responsible for creating claim reports.
●      Solid customer service skills or held a previous position requiring a significant amount of customer interaction.
●      A strong work ethic and time management skills to efficiently handle a large caseload.
●      The ability to speak a second language (Spanish) is an asset.
●      Valid driver license (driving record will be verified)
●      Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.
 
Some of the Responsibilities for SCG POD
Within given authority, the POD investigates the cause and origin of claims. It estimates the repair cost by contacting the appropriate parties, including insured, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, public personnel, etc. SCG also reviews maintenance records, prior claims, and identifies prior claim repairs to establish the repairability and repair cost estimates for the insurance carrier review.
●      Review the claim holder’s insurance policy. Set up and maintain all claims documents
●      Assist the Adjusters in every way necessary to facilitate the file progression to a conclusion
●      Create invoices and submit invoices for payment.
●      Input data and maintain a log of all events into our custom-designed Monday application.
●      Actively manages individual tasks of the Pod claim inventory and meets cycle-time goals for closing files. Claim inventory will focus on complex commercial claims. 
●      Works well in a group environment and is self-supervised, recognizing when assistance is needed.
●      The Administrative Assistant when asked will facilitate communication between customers, agents, vendors, third-party administrators, and other employees.
●      Completes and updates the information requests and scheduled status reviews between client and Stone Claims Group.
Working Environment Our Administrative Assistants are salary positions at Stone Claims Group with working weeks of 40 hours per week. Employees must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week during catastrophe events. Administrative Assistants primarily work from a home office and are seldom required to travel.
