In House Litigation Attorney- Florida

The Company: Our client has operations throughout the United States and globally, with international affiliate offices in Canada, Mexico, Australia, and The Netherlands.  U.S. offices are in Phoenix, Atlanta, and Weston, its global headquarters for production and administrative functions. The Opportunity: The company is centered in growing, dynamic and unique industries and provides an exciting opportunity to work with a growing, dynamic, and unique team of accomplished lawyers. The legal team is rapidly growing and needs a litigation attorney to work in the Weston office.
 
The Candidate: The ideal candidate has 7-10+ years of “hands” on commercial litigation experience with a well-recognized law firm or in-house litigation department.
 
The Position:  Candidates must be:
 
1. proficient in general commercial litigation matters (not insurance defense) and able to manage all phases of electronic discovery.
2. familiar with Dade and Broward state court practice (75%) and federal court practice (25%).
3. able to manage a large and diverse caseload that includes collections, UCC disputes (non-conforming goods), LL/T security deposits, influence brokers, business torts, logistics disputes, and general breaches of contract.
4. familiar with handling commercial litigation cases valued from $100K to over $1.5MM+ in damages.
5. experienced in all phases of motion practice (drafting/arguing motions up to and including MSJ’s), experienced in deposition experience (take/defend), and experienced in bench trials and evidentiary hearings.  
6. able to work in a very fast paced environment, think independently, “shift gears” easily, maintain focus on multiple projects, be resilient, be efficient and otherwise accommodate a demanding law practice.
7. able to work in-office (West Broward county and with campus being built in Pembroke Pines) and work remotely (as COVID conditions dictate).
8. licensed in the U.S. with Florida Bar admission being strongly preferred.
9.  Law Review experience preferred.
