The City of Camden is seeking an experienced attorney who enjoys and excels in litigation to serve as the City's principal litigator as a member of the City Attorney's Office. The successful candidate should have substantial pre-trial and trial experience, particularly dealing with tort liability matters. Familiarity with the New Jersey Tort Claims Act is favored. Attorneys should have excellent writing and speaking skills. All assistant city attorneys are expected to serve as liaisons to one or more City departments and provide council to said departments. Attorneys may be assigned various types of municipal litigation and occasionally other municipal legal matters. Attorneys must be admitted to the New Jersey Bar and be residents of New Jersey. Attorneys must be members of the New Jersey Supreme Court and the U.S. District Court for the State of New Jersey.
