DOL Withdraws Independent Contractor Rule

On January 7, 2021, the Department of Labor (“DOL”) published a new rule for determining independent contractor status under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”). The “Independent Contractor Rule” had an initial effective date of March 8, 2021, but the Biden administration postponed the effective date to May 7, 2021.
