By a 9-0 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court yesterday ruled in favor of student-athletes on the NCAA rules restricting education-related benefits given to athletes. However, while the ruling in yesterday’s NCAA v. Alston case went in favor of the athletes, institutes of higher education need to proceed with caution as the decision did not dismantle all of the NCAA’s rules on athlete compensation.
