Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company is seeking an in-house counsel / attorney to join its Legal Department, specifically with a focus on commercial real estate investment and fund experience. Essential job experience would include reviewing real estate fund documents; representing institutional investors in private real estate transactions; involvement with acquisitions and financing of real estate assets and/or loans for the CMBS market (preferably with lenders), and other general experience involving commercial real estate. Experience with leasing, financing, construction and environmental matters are also helpful. Additional duties may include legal research, drafting legal opinions, additional matters involving investments and other general corporate matters.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (preferably business related) and a juris doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school. If not already licensed to practice law in Mississippi, must obtain membership in the Mississippi Bar within six (6) months of hire. The ideal candidate should possess three (3) to six (6) years of commercial real estate investment and funds experience and must have excellent communication, research and writing abilities.
