National Senior Business Attorney

Why Work Here? Nationwide practice, independent and flexible culture with over 30 years of industry-leading visibility and an industry-wide reputation for excellence without question. Candidate Sought: A top-credentialed business attorney desiring a remote national practice but with the flexible environment of a small firm. We are looking for a senior associate or partner with excellent business skills seeking a different “off-Wall Street/D.C.” law career – someone interested in working hard, on a national diverse and interesting series of matters every day and being compensated accordingly. Must be able to effectively mentor younger attorneys and manage clients. This candidate must possess confidence, a good sense of humor and a collaborative attitude. Compensation: $250,000 - $500,000+ in salary, profit sharing and override compensation - based upon level of experience and performance. Deferred compensation also available. Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401(k) Job Summary: Berenson LLP is the nation’s leading law firm (the only one, actually) with an exclusive practice in the remodeling and home improvement industry, serving as special and general counsel to a diverse industry client base throughout the United States, including big box retailers, national and regional remodeling manufacturers, dealers, contractors and finance companies. Our practice is extremely diverse, covering a wide variety of industry business matters including employment issues, advertising, telemarketing, transactional disputes, M&A, tax, government audits, contract matters and strategic class action defensive litigation. Key Qualifications: An ability to grasp complex client concerns and communicate confidence and excellence. Unlike many firms, our clients will be with us tomorrow, after a case is over, so an understanding of the business ramifications of litigation and disputes is necessary. The candidate must have excellent communication skills. Eventually, this candidate will also be counseling and advising clients in how to structure their operations to avoid litigation and joining other firm attorneys at national and regional speaking events. The candidate must be able to manage his/her own time. We value quality of life as much as we value our reputation, but this requires the ability to manage one’s workload effectively given the flexibility we allow our attorneys to have. A candidate with pre-existing knowledge of the remodeling or home improvement industry and how it operates is helpful, but not required.
